Dear All,
I have been struck recently with the number of people who are publicly professing to be acting in what they believe to be the Will of God. The problem is obvious to all. People taking the exact opposite stance are also professing that they, too, are acting in what they believe to be the Will of God.
I am interested in exploring how people discern the Will of God. How do people believe God is revealing that Divine Will to individuals?
Most important as this is the crux of the matter in the US today:
When another person who has also discerned the Will of God receives a
different message or direction to go, what do you do to reconcile the apparently opposing messages from God?
Examples:
- The war in Iraq is a just war / The war in Iraq is an unjust war.
- Homosexual behavior is not sinful / Homosexual behavior is sinful.
- Harry Potter books are evil / Harry Potter books are not evil.
- Abortion is not murder / Abortion is murder.
If you are interested in joining this exploration please email me the answer to this question:
How do you discern what it is that God would have you do?
By responding you are agreeing that you are willing to have your thoughts shared and published.
Thanks you for your help.
Deborah
