What was needed . . .

What was needed was a school for handicapped children. In an environment where every person must pull their weight, a child with a disability creates a hardship of critical proportions.
As there was no daycare available; either one parent had to stay home, compromising an already precarious financial footing, or the child needed to be left alone in the shack
Neither option was a good one. So when asked how we could help, Father Jose asked to have a center for handicapped children built.
