Dominga and her sons

Dominga is the single mother of 2 sons, Jonathan, age 12 and Carlos, age 9. Both attend the parish school on scholarships and do very well. Her husband left her and she cleans houses for a living.  She owns her land.  The building needs to be torn down and the concrete inside resurfaced.  The site will hold a house 6.8 m X 8 m (22.31' x 26.25').

Walter and Elizabeth and family

Walter and his wife Elizabeth live in a hodge podge of falling down walls. Their land is L shaped and goes behind the structure to the left.  Walter and Elizabeth have 2 children, Milady 8 and Eric 7.  Walters' father, Fidencio, lives with them along with Katy, Walter's youngest sister and Jessica, his niece.  His sister Marisol and her 4 children, Yadelise 3, Louis Anderson 5, Louis Enrique 8 and Abraham 9, also live in the home.  There is another young man in the photo who also lives with them but we couldn't straighten out who he was. There is a total of 12 people.  They will need basically 2 houses joined at the back L.  Due to the complications of the lot and the house needed, the builder will go to the site and draw it out with the family's help.

Elysia and her children

It was getting late in the day so I could only get one photo of Elysia, Annabelle 13, Garcon 16 and Aaron 11. They have been told to vacate the shack they are renting. Padre will have to find a place for them to live until their home is built(perhaps at the center that we helped renovate the first year we worked in Manchay). They have no land but Padre is hoping to find some for them somewhere. It is hoped that the land will be appropriate for a regular rectangular home with two bedrooms partitioned off at one end. Elysia cleans homes in LaMolina. The students attend the parish school on scholarship and are doing well. Once the land is acquired the builder will visit it and draw up the plans for their home.

Yoshi and his family

Yoshi is second from the right. He lives with his brother on the far right, his mother and father, and his sister Elena 17 who is pregnant and due in July. Yoshi, who is developmentally delayed, works as a laborer for the parish and frequently volunteers as a worship assistant during mass. His brother is more severely delayed and cannot work. Their mother stays home to care for him. Their father works intermittently. The parents and the younger brother live in the house behind them. It is quite nice. Elena lives in a 4 m X 4 m (13.12' x 13.12') home next to it. It has blue plastic for a roof but otherwise is OK. Replacing her roof and pouring a concrete floor will be part of the construction here. Yoshi, as the primary breadwinner, wants a small home for himself.
